What "accessible" means in this collection

These villas are chosen for named features, not for a promise about who they suit: single-storey layouts, step-free access from the gate or car park to the front door, and a bedroom and bathroom on the entrance level so stairs are not part of daily life. Kalkan is built on a steep hillside, and even a villa marketed as spacious can still involve a flight of steps to reach the pool or the bedrooms.

Why this is harder here than it sounds

A flat plot is rare on this coast, so "single storey" usually still means a short, level approach rather than a flat garden end to end. Ask specifically about the path from parking to the door, from the house to the pool, and whether any of those routes involve steps, since a villa can be single storey and still have a stepped terrace. If proximity to town matters as much as the layout, our villas within walking distance of the centre cut down on car journeys as well.

What to check before booking

Ask for the exact number and location of any steps, the width of doorways, and whether the bathroom on the entrance level has a walk-in shower rather than a step-over bath. We describe what our local team has seen on its own visit, but needs vary enough between guests that the specific detail matters more than the category.
